Fishing is a key industry in Westray in the early 21st century. The island has about a dozen creel boats - some part-time and one whitefish boat, the Keila. Crabs and lobsters are landed at Gill Pier, Rapness and at Tuquoy with much of the seafood being processed and moved on to the European market.
